korea in two weeks | nami island

It's easy to be consumed by the "Berkeley bubble," but looking through pictures from Korea reminded me how the standards created in a highly success-driven area do not translate to happiness in other areas.

One of the first places we visited was Nami Island. Although known to be an extremely touristy area, I found beauty in the little things: not the antiquated huts and grandiose sculptures, but the underwhelming train track and flowers lining the sides of the unpaved road. More so than any blatant monument designated to be "cultural," the little things are what truly define a culture.
